 is the forum dead or are people just not into diving this year :?:
I don't want to hear excuses about the weather, when diving you'll get wet anyways, so no complaining about the rain ;-)

Not diving due to illness, but hope to be in the water again soon. That's my excuse.

Hmm 18 views, 3 posts.
Either we are out diving, and are a bunch of lurkers, or the forum is gasping, a bit of both?

We hit 69F today! no hood water temps!

Get in the water people... the weather topside might be May ish but the water is definitely Julyish temperatures.

I have been diving, but mostly with courses, and then just too busy to try to help organize these "fun dives" like Lock 21 this Sunday.

I don't know about anyone else, but I just haven't been able to get away this summer :dunno:. One dive two weeks ago and before that six dives in the Dominican Republic in January. Not what I'd hoped for :-(.

Just tooooo many projects on the weekends for diving. I hope to get some dives in for August though. I'll look up the Forum then for buddies :D

I'm back in the water, yay! :) Thanks for the well-wishes, Fred.

Viz is pretty bad, but I've been using the fisheye lens on my camera and it helps make the water look a little clearer!

Glad your feeling better
Your right about the viz, but it could be worst.
Lucky you a wide angle I'm stuck with an 85-125mm
due to a lack of funds.
Have fun, we'll be at the quarry tonight around 7:30 if anyone wants to join in

if anyone is free to dive tomorrow (july 30th) after around 2:30
let me know, I'm trying to get a couple of divers for a good dive.
Maybee that will get a few people in the water,
O.K. vis won't be too good, but it will be a good dive anyways...

Diving? Qué?

Marie and I have started golf lessons for variety's sake... you can only dive the same murky green water so often before it starts getting old. Now if we had some serious sidemount caves we could dive any time we wanted around here............

I've been lurking for a while, but I figured that I would reply to your question.
Owing to two partial knee replacements, I didn't get into the water until yesterday - August 2.

Did two dives on the Lilly Parsons. The day was perfect - for a change. The dives were fun and a good way to get back into my season. There were quite a few small dive boats anchored at the west end of the island. I haven't been on the Lilly in a couple of years and didn't know that the parks guys have roped off a large part of the island for rehabilitation. I guess as part of that, they have removed some of the docks that used to be at the west end.

It's still a fun easy way to make sure all the gear is working properly.

Tks Fred.

Yeah, she's still a sight for sore eyes. I've done this dive many times before, and it's still interesting. From the interior at the bow, you can see the deterioration over the years. I tend to dive off the wreck to see the bits and pieces that, I guess, fell off on her way down. There is a winch that must have fallen off her quite a distance off the wreck and down about 150'. It's a big sucker.
